What is Ichthyosis?
ARCI is a group of rare inherited skin disorders that affect the skin barrier, causing persistent scaling, dryness, and other lifelong symptoms.
People with ARCI are born with genetic changes that disrupt the normal formation and function of the outermost layer of the skin. This can cause severe scaling, dryness and inflammation, as well as difficulties regulating body temperature and an increased risk of skin complications.
ARCI is lifelong, and treatment currently focuses on managing symptoms through intensive daily skin care and medications.
Today, there is no cure available for Ichthyosis.
